IPA: Multiple Systems Achieve Highest Ratings in Soft Proofing Test
Press release from the issuing company
Edina, MN—July 27, 2007 -- A recent public statement surrounding results of the 007 IPA Proofing RoundUP, approved in advance by IPA and issued by Kodak on July 24, 2007, indicated that Kodak had achieved the highest rating in evaluation of heir soft proofing system, Matchprint Virtual Calibrator v5.0.1. using EIZO ColorEdge CG221 Display. While true, it must be noted that in addition, two other systems received equal results, the highest ratings possible in all categories; ICS emote Director, using Quato Intelli proof 230 E and Dalim Software DALiM DiALOGUE v4.0 using EIZO CG221 Display.
With the reality of today's ICC based proofing providing high quality results for both paper and displays, IPA could not publish individual data within the accepted variation between the measurement equipment used in the RoundUP testing. For this reason, each system was measured against a standard and grouped in categories based upon those measurements.
