DMTI Spatial Promotes John Sorrell to Director of Marketing

Markham, ON Canada – July 31, 2007. DMTI Spatial (DMTI), a leading provider of Enterprise Location Intelligence, has announced the appointment of John Sorrell as Director of Marketing. As a member of DMTI’s senior management team, John is responsible for leading the company’s marketing efforts to enhance formal customer communications processes such as satisfaction input, increase the profitability of existing product lines, identify new product opportunities for emerging market needs and quantify lead generation ROI for the company.
Prior to his new appointment, John has held the positions of Manager of Product Development and Marketing Manager at DMTI Spatial.
Since joining marketing, DMTI Spatial has adopted a product management framework as the foundation for many new initiatives. Working closely with customers to understand their most important problems and opportunities, marketing focuses its efforts on developing product and service enhancements that will bring the most value to their customers. To do this, the marketing team drives improvements in existing product offerings and creates new solutions by working collaboratively across company teams including Development, Engineering, and Sales.
The adoption of the product management framework has contributed to qualified lead generation from the marketing department increasing 286% over FY 2006 and the average price point on opportunities won from marketing leads increasing in value approximately 35%.

John holds an Honours degree in Geography from Queen’s University and a Masters degree from York University.
