Xerox Earns 127 Awards for Digital Printing and Multifunction Products
Press release from the issuing company
Monday July 23 -- STAMFORD, Conn.-- Leading IT publications and test and research organizations around the globe recognized Xerox Corporation with 127 awards and honors during the first half of the year.
Xerox office printers and multifunction products received numerous honors from independent testing labs, including six Buyers Laboratory Inc.'s prestigious "Pick of the Year" honors, 15 "Editor's Choice" awards by Better Buys for Business, and four "Highly Recommended" designations from BERTL.
Testing organizations also praised Xerox's digital production systems. Better Buys for Business awarded the Xerox 4110 Enterprise Printing System, the Xerox Nuvera 100/120/144 EA Digital Production System and the DocuColor 8000AP Digital Press with "Editor's Choice" designations. Additionally, the Xerox Nuvera 288 Digital Perfecting System took home the "Best in Show" award in the monochrome digital printing equipment category at the On Demand tradeshow in April, and the DocuColor 260 Digital Color Printer/Copier received an honorable mention in the Process Color Digital Printing Equipment category.
Editorial accolades for solid ink devices were received from Government Computer News, naming the Phaser 8560MFP a "Best of FOSE" winner in the peripherals category. This product also received an "Editor's Choice" designation from Computer Shopper. Solid ink technology was lauded by both publications for its ease of use, overall print quality and quick speeds.
"In our hands-on tests, we found that Xerox's Phaser 8560/N delivered high-quality color prints at a speedy clip - and, thanks to its solid ink printing technology, at a remarkably thrifty cost per page," said Rik Fairlie, editor in chief of Computer Shopper. "With the cost of consumables so high, low per-page printing is a factor that all shoppers should consider when buying a printer."
Other editorial accolades were garnered from PC Magazine, which gave "Editor's Choice" designations to two Xerox office printers - the Phaser 6180 and Phaser 6360 color laser printers. In addition, Xerox's DocuShare content management software was chosen as the leader in the "Image/Forms/Document Capture" category of the KMWorld 2007 Readers' Choice Awards.
In addition, the VARBusiness' 2007 Partner Program Guide awarded Xerox's Peak Alliance Partner Program, an incentive-based system that compensates Xerox resellers, a five-star rating.
The company also has been recognized for its excellence in knowledge management, innovation, diversity, ethics, solutions to workplace issues, environmental programs and leadership. Later this week, the President of the United States will present Xerox Corporation with the National Medal of Technology, the highest honor awarded to America's leading innovators.
Xerox will showcase various award-winning offerings at several industry events during the remainder of 2007 including Photoshop World in Las Vegas, Graph Expo in Chicago, and Interface in Seattle.
