Brown Printing Company Receives Forest Stewardship Council Chain-of-Custody Certification

Waseca, MN - July 18, 2007 – Brown Printing Company (SW-COC-002334), announced today that it has been awarded Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain-of- Custody Certification by the SmartWood program of Rainforest Alliance . All three of Brown’s print locations in Waseca, MN; East Greenville, PA and Woodstock, IL achieved FSC status.
The FSC certification ensures that companies like Brown are adhering to an established set of standards for maintaining Chain of Custody of FSC certified products.  Receiving this certification assures that participating Brown customers may choose to use FSC certified paper for their product. They may then use the FSC logo on the printed piece to inform their customers that the paper is manufactured from a well managed forest in accordance with FSC principles and criteria.
In addition to this FSC certification, Brown Printing also participates in other earth friendly procedures such as Virtual Proofing to eliminate paper proofs and Co-Mailing for greater distribution efficiencies.
