Insert printing specialist selects Goss Magnum press

Press release from the issuing company

June 29th, 2007 – Fisher Printing, Inc., a leading producer of national and regional newspaper advertising inserts, will install a new Goss Magnum 4 press with heatset capabilities and two Goss C5 folders at its Orange, California facility in the fall of 2007.
“For us, Goss technology has a proven and successful track record over time, which is why Fisher Printing chose to purchase this new press equipment from an industry leader,” explains Bill Fischer, COO for the company’s West Coast Operation. “You can’t afford to take a risk when you’re making a major investment in a press system that you and your customers depend on.”
Fisher Printing has facilities in Bridgeview, Illinois as well as Orange, California and operates multiple Goss V-30, Mercury, Magnum and Sunday 2000 presses.
The new single-tower Magnum 4 press will feature a 21-inch cutoff and a 40-inch web-width. “This configuration, with the ribbon deck and two folders, will give us the flexibility to print standard four-page inserts in double-out production, effectively cutting production time in half for some jobs,” according to Fisher. The four-high vertical tower configuration will also allow the company to fit the press within a new addition planned for the facility.
Fisher Printing is a third-generation family owned business founded in Chicago in 1933. The West Coast Operation was added in 1981. The full-service company specializes in producing weekly newspaper advertising inserts for grocery stores as well as other commercial retail clients.
