PAF Announces Call for Entries for Florida Print Awards

Press release from the issuing company

Orlando, Florida– March 29, 2007 — The Printing Association of Florida today announced a call for entries for their 20th annual Florida Print Awards. Conducted annually, the Florida Print Awards recognizes outstanding achievement in the graphic arts and printing industry on a statewide level. The deadline for entries is April 17th, 2007 and winners will be recognized at an award banquet, August 4, 2007 at the association’s annual Print Management Conference at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, Orlando, Florida. “The Florida Print Awards competition represents an outstanding opportunity for our members to showcase their craft and gain statewide recognition” said George Ryan president and CEO of the Printing Association of Florida. “We are pleased to be able to bring attention to all of the fine work that Florida printers produce through this competition.” Established in 1988, the Florida Print Awards provides association members, graphic artists and design students from the state of Florida a way to compete on a level playing field in 56 print and design categories. Entries are judged against those in the same division, allowing entrants to only compete against other entrants of the same size and employee number. Winning entrees will receive a certificate suitable for framing and awards will be given in each category by division including best of category, award of excellence, judges’ award and sponsor award. In addition, a Golden Flamingo trophy will be given to the company that receives the most first place awards in a single category. In 2006, 69 companies, who entered a record setting 1,017 printed pieces, were recognized for outstanding achievement at the association’s 19th Florida Print Awards and Franklin Communications, LLC received the Golden Flamingo trophy. In addition, winning companies leverage their award status through marketing, sales and media relations via a self-promotion kit provided by the Printing Association of Florida. “I challenge all of our members to use this competition as a marketing tool for your business,” stated George Ryan. “Show your clients and future clients, the caliber of craftsmanship that your company is capable of.” For more information on The Florida Print Awards competition, entry forms, the event, attendance, sponsorship or to exhibit at the conference, please contact Anne Gaither, director of education, programs and events at (407) 240-8009, email at [email protected], or visit the Print Association of Florida’s web site at www.pafgraf.org/Downloads.aspx.
