PrintCity Successful Conference in St Petersburg and Seminar in Budapest

Press release from the issuing company

Augsburg, Germany, June 18, 2007 – The PrintCity alliance has completed two very successful conference and seminar events in Russia and Hungary in recent weeks, underlining its dedication to bring its members shared knowledge directly to printers & publishers who can benefit:

- St Petersburg, Russia May 10-11th, 2007. A joint conference co-presented by PrintCity & MDM Print

- Budapest, Hungary, April 25th, 2007. A PrintCity seminar

St Petersburg/MDM Print Conference – May 2007

PrintCity & MDM Print of St Petersburg worked together to provide over 100 visitors, especially publishers, an exciting ‘Web Offset Printing – Latest Thinking’ conference in mid May. Importantly there was opportunity for all present to see the MDM Print facilities and a print demonstration on the new 48-page MAN Roland LITHOMAN recently installed there.

PrintCity alliance members MAN Roland, MEGTEC, SunChemical and UPM worked throughout in cooperation with the management team at the host MDM Print to co-present the whole unique programme of activities over several days.

MDM Print is one of the most modern Printing houses in Russia and demonstrated with great engagement and professionalism that excellent results can be achieved by applying knowledge, best practice, best machines and best materials.

Attendees gave very positive feedback on the whole programme and a future similar conference in St Petersburg is being considered for 2008/2009.

Budapest, Hungary Seminar, April 2007

PrintCity alliance members MAN Roland, MEGTEC, Trelleborg Engineered Systems (formerly Reeves S.p.A.), Sappi, Sun Chemical and UPM reported on their experiences from the world market and offered 'best practice' knowledge, advice and solutions to over 120 Hungarian commercial printing and publishing executives. The subjects covered in this day seminar were:

- Value Added Printing of Newspapers – the PrintCity VAPoN™ project, plus other web offset topics including energy efficiency, use of wide paper rolls and roll handling

- Best practice UV sheetfed printing and coating for publication and commercial printing – including which type of UV, production systems, materials and techniques

Guests at the seminar were very complimentary about the way the event was organised and the presentation programme was very well received both by the printers also by members of all of the participating companies. This seminar location is likely to be repeated after drupa in 2008, due to its popularity.

PrintCity Future Seminars

PrintCity conferences and seminars of this type bring latest industry knowledge direct to specific customer groups, and allow a close interaction between suppliers and customers, to create new business opportunities. Most importantly these seminars show the influence of all materials and equipment used in the supply & production chain.

PrintCity alliance members report their experiences from the world market and offer 'best practice' knowledge, advice and solutions to audiences in many markets worldwide.

PrintCity is increasing its international seminar activity as a way of bringing its growing range of ‘connection of competence’ projects directly to printers and publishers in their own countries. Future locations for this type of seminar include Italy, the Middle East and Latin America.

A further PrintCity seminar was completed in Plovdiv, Bulgaria in early June 2007.
