Xeikon to showcase digital color printing applications at Graph Expo 2007

Press release from the issuing company

Itasca, IL, August 27, 2007 – Xeikon (Graph Expo Booth #2257), a Punch Graphix brand, will print real world digital color printing applications on its flagship product- the Xeikon 6000- at Graph Expo 2007.
According to Carl Dunaway, National Sales Manager, Punch Graphix Americas, “One of the applications that we will produce at Graph Expo is direct mail postcards. Some of the highly successful Xeikon customers are currently producing this application on the Xeikon technology, resulting in significant bottom line growth for their businesses. The fulfillment of these variable sized direct mail postcards will be automated in one complete production line. Our production set-up will consist of the Xeikon 6000 digital color press along with an inline-finishing unit with two-sided UV-coating, die cutting, stacking and batching.  The starting point for the production workflow would be Xeikon’s powerful X-800 Digital Front-End.”
The same Xeikon 6000 production set-up will also produce presentation folders at Graph Expo, which demonstrates the flexibility of the Xeikon technology. With a 20” paper width and unlimited print length, the Xeikon 6000 is the only digital color press that can print full-color presentation folders. The speed and monthly duty cycle of the Xeikon 6000 enable it to easily produce in excess of 100,000  4/4 full-color presentation folders per month running just a single 8-hour shift, 20 days a month. In addition, the Xeikon 6000 prints easily on 12-pt. stock (270 GSM), which is the most commonly used substrate weight for this application.
The Punch Graphix booth will also showcase various market segments in which the Xeikon technology provides a unique value proposition based on its speed (up to 160 pages per minute), format flexibility (20” wide and unlimited length) and monthly duty cycle (up to 5.0 million pages). These segments include book production/publishing, transactional, point-of-purchase (POP), labels and packaging as well as specialty applications. In addition, the booth will house a workflow gallery exhibiting the variable data print solutions of various Xeikon workflow partners.
“All print providers who are interested in looking at a high volume digital color production press to considerably improve their productivity and provide a diverse range of value-added applications must stop by the Punch Graphix booth,” adds Carl.
