QuadTech: New Products Ordered for Diario de Noticias

Press release from the issuing company

August, 2007 -- In May 2007 Diario de Noticias, who produces a self-titled tabloid newspaper, ordered a QuadTech Register Guidance System with MultiCam and QuadTech Ribbon Control System with MultiCam, both on the ICON platform, for it’s plant based in Pamplona in Northern Spain, upgrading an existing MAN Uniset 65 newspaper press.
The company won awards for both the best local newspaper category at the Sixth European Newspaper and best design in a European newspaper in recent years. In purchasing the most up-to-date technology in register control they hope to see reduced waste copies and a stabilized web during production.
Jon Barriola, General Manager at Diario de Noticias commented “We’ve known QuadTech for a very long time and it’s products have a good reputation throughout Europe. MAN Roland has supported the idea of adding these QuadTech products to our system to increase reliability and cost-effectiveness.
“We are a relatively young and dynamic company and you are only as good as the technology that you have on hand. The MultiCam camera is low maintenance, without needing bulb replacements and reduced cleaning cycles. It will stay locked onto marks during tension upsets such as start-ups and splices. This will save us a significant reduction in start-up times and save on waste copies,” he added.
Kiko Maneru, Technical Manager for Diario de Noticias added, “We have built a reputation in newspaper printing for innovation and our customers rely on a layout that remains consistent in terms of quality image printing. We also want to save money on material costs and continually improve productivity and with the Register Guidance System and Ribbon Control System, we are confident we can achieve this.”
