Press release from the issuing company

June 14, 2007 -- Oce, a global leader in digital document management and delivery solutions, announces that the revolutionary Océ VarioPrint 6250 digital duplex printer has been named “Product of the Year 2007” by the European Digital Press Association (EDP). The system took top honors in the category of production cut-sheet monochrome printing. Only the very best products were considered, according to EDP, and recognition given to products signifies the utmost quality to professionals and end-users.

The EDP is an association founded to support and promote the growing digital print industry. EDP was established by seven of Europe’s leading digital print magazines representing a combined readership of 80,000 professionals.

A technical committee of independent consultants, editors, engineers and other related professionals evaluated a range of digital press products, including high-speed cut-sheet printers, wide format systems, software offerings and printing consumables. Selection criteria included efficiency, performance, quality/price ratio, design, and ease of use. The judges applied strict standards in their selections, and as a result, each EDP award is synonymous with innovation and quality. EDP member editors also participated in selecting the winning products.

“Since its introduction in 2006, the Océ VarioPrint 6250 continues to be recognized with industry awards,” said Joseph Skrzypczak, President and CEO, Océ North America, Inc.. “The EDP Product of the Year honor places this breakthrough printer in very elite company representing some of the finest technology and innovation on the market.”

The Océ VarioPrint 6250 is the world’s most productive duplex, cut sheet digital printer with breakthrough performance at 250 letter-size duplex prints per minute. The system uses revolutionary Océ Gemini Instant Duplex technology to support single-pass duplexing for outstanding speed, offset-class quality, higher productivity and reliability, and smooth integration. As a result, both corporate and commercial users can reduce costs, increase profitability, improve productivity and enhance efficiency.

The awards were presented June 6 at the Hotel Concorde in Berlin. More information about the awards can be found at http://www.edpassociation.com/magazine/content/blogsection/4/37/
