GRIPdigital Introduces New SpectroPlate

Press release from the issuing company

LaGrange, IL, February 12, 2007 - GRIPdigital the CTP calibration market leader with thousands of satisfied installations has introduced another first in SpectroPlate. GRIP client requests for higher definition imaging state the new SpectroPlate is considered by print leaders as a plate reading “dotmeter on steroids” with renowned Techkon German optics built in, to instantly show operators targets while automatically measuring all plate results in under 1 second. SpectroPlate includes two (2) spectrally balanced light sources to illuminate all subjects and accurately surpass all other plate measuring tools with a 120x Optically magnified image. Featuring a large easy to see heads up display and live image targeting SpectroPlate faithfully reveals any image results traceable to the FOGRA FMB imaging standard for AM & FM, adopted by major printing plate manufacturers. The non-contact 1mm view aperture also benefits production by not marring sensitive plate coatings. SpectroPlate also relieves operator fatigue with adjustable contrast display built in. Each SpectroPlate arrives ready to improve all workflow images and is complete with an ISO Certificate. SpectroPlate reads 10,000 measurements before needing a recharge and checking of internal calibration sets is integrated in a single (1) step. This avoids common dotmeter issues of needing multiple plate calibration steps and or in questions to the operator, if the dotmeter calibration settings are up to date or if verifiably traceable. SpectroPlate users view images microscopically before measuring to accurately eliminate another dotmeter worry of factoring in thresholded results incorrectly or by adding in artifact errors each issue possible only in older dotmeters. SpectroPlate results are viewed in highest uncompressed RGB resolution of 1024 pixels by 1024 pixels, enabling GRIP customers to view any results in over 16 million colors including plate grain profiles. SpectroPlate also includes advanced diagnostics and geometric analysis. For example a removable grid overlay is present to isolate dots or imaging artifacts down to 1/16th of a millimeter for adding plate and press sheet troubleshooting to the highest-level precision. SpectroPlate includes SP Connect Software to monitor and report results of actual net press gain curves automatically to match new proofing calibration goal sets or to just calibrate all PlateSetter RIP Optics and Plate materials, directly at once.
