CHICAGO--June 7, 2007-- Radius Solutions Ltd., the leading integrated Business Information Management/Enterprise Resource Planning provider for the printing and packaging industry, announced that Hammer Packaging is implementing PECAS Vision to support its strategic business objectives.
Hammer Packaging is a privately held, North American, high-quality package printing company with a focus on labels and product decoration for consumer products. The company incorporates a rigorous reinvestment strategy to ensure adoption of technology that keeps it on the cutting edge of trends, to provide clients with the latest in product offerings at competitive prices.
It also embraces a highly responsive customer service philosophy and practice of doing whatever is required to meet clients' needs. It is these characteristics that have helped it achieve double-digit growth year over year -- doubling its size over the last five years to be a strong leader in the packaging market.
In order to accommodate its rapid growth and to lay a foundation of support for its long term business objectives, Hammer Packaging decided to replace its existing information management systems with a single integrated end-to-end solution that will tie together its multi-facility operations. The new system will automate manual processes and eliminate the need to internally maintain multiple systems, databases and spreadsheets to manage daily operations and reporting.
"Now that we have five different facilities, it has become more difficult to track down the right person to get information whenever we need it. We require a system that we can easily use for real-time access to accurate business information", said Jason Hammer, Manager of Production Services, at Hammer Packaging.
Hammer Packaging enjoys acclaim for its workplace employee practices, and wanted to deploy technology that would enable its employees to increase productivity, automate processes and eliminate manual rework. "We feel it is critical to provide our employees with the tools to get their jobs done as efficiently and effectively as possible", states Mr. Hammer
Hammer Packaging considered a number of software vendors both industry specific and generic ERP providers, before thoroughly evaluating two final vendors and selecting Radius Solutions. The industry specific focus and references were strong deciding factors as well as PECAS Vision's strong capabilities in the areas of scheduling, work-in-progress tracking and lot traceability. Ease of Use was also an important consideration.
"The process of selecting an ERP application requires significant due diligence. We were extremely impressed with the attention to detail applied by the team from Hammer Packaging. Companies need to consider not only the quality of the application, but the ability to deliver on promises. Radius Solutions is proud to be selected as Hammer Packaging's Information Systems partner of choice and attributes our selection to the quality of our application, our employees and our implementation methodology", stated David Taylor, President and CEO of Radius Solutions.
Hammer Packaging will implement the entire PECAS Vision Suite including: Sales and Production Estimating, Order Handling, Production Scheduling, Shop Floor Data Collection, Material Purchasing and Inventory Control, Job Costing and Financials. The application roll-out will start at its Rochester Headquarters and is expected to be completed across all of its facilities by the beginning of next January.
"This contract is more than just an agreement to supply, but a strategic partnership which will last for decades and form the basis of a solid foundation for technological and process excellence. We are proud of the 'best practice' expertise built into our application and the knowledge that our consultants can add their expertise to Hammer Packaging's business", said Mr. Taylor.
In working with an industry specific ERP/MIS leader, Hammer Packaging looks forward to having access to product enhancements and upgrades that are brought about by other industry leading companies who employ best practices and are running the PECAS Vision application. They also look forward to working with software professionals who truly understand their business.
