Ultimate is expanding its service to Mexico and all our customers in the Central and South America, and the distributors who sell to them. Joining us in these efforts are some of South Americas finest manufacturers of Graphic Arts and digital printing equipments such as Agfa, HP, IBM and Xerox, including major distributors such as GMS/Fuji, Newstech of Latina America, Easy Color of Brazil, Printex of Colombia and Tecnografica de Centro America, and others.
Not only famous for their Tequila and Sombreros, Mexico is one of Latin America’s most important print markets and an important print supplier to North America “As part of the North American Free Trade Agreement, Mexico was an obvious choice for us” explains David Watson, president and CEO of Ultimate. “In the past decade, Mexico has been one of the US’s main print suppliers, combined with a growing internal market; Mexican printers are modernizing their equipment at an increasing rate.”
Heading these offices is Hilda A. Arévalo, a highly qualified software Engineer from I.T.E.S.M., with a master’s degree in photography.
Arévalo was in charge of the re-engineering and implementation of the new electronic prepress departments for the Reforma Group Newspapers which operates in Mexico with four newspapers in four different states: Reforma, El Norte, Mural and Palabra.
”With the implementation of new controls and new digital equipment on the production process we were able to improve by 85% the quality and speed our pre-press operation,” explains Hilda Arévalo “which allowed the newspaper to recover all the investment in no more than a month’s worth of labor. With Impostrip Page Pairing and Ink Ready, I will be able to bring top solutions for newspapers.”
Arévalo also worked as a Quality Control Director for the electronic pre-press department at Editorial Televisa, which is the largest and most important editorial in Mexico, coordinating and controlling the quality and color reproduction of their external print shops.
Arévalo is proud to lead this project: ”Now, I’m a proud member of the Ultimate team which is the leading company in Imposition software, and continues to deliver the best for the printing industry with a new focus in developing the Latin Market.”
Ultimate will be exhibiting in various booths at Graphic of the Americas in Miami and at the upcoming IMPREXPO in Mexico. Visit www.imposition.com for more info.
