DDI Installs DocuSheeter Roll Feed System on Xerox iGen3 Digital Production Press

Press release from the issuing company

Burlington, MA (December 14, 2006) - Development Dimensions International (DDI) has added the DocuSheeter iG roll feed system to its Xerox iGen3 110 Digital Production Press at its facility in Canonsburg, PA. DDI uses the DocuSheeter to feed cut sheets from rolls to the Xerox iGen3 digital press for its short-run color and customized training material applications. Many larger clients use training materials that are specifically created for their particular applications. DDI produces many of its products to order, on demand (just-in-time), reducing related inventory and handling costs. "The biggest DocuSheeter advantage we see is the productivity gain," said Steve Horton, facility leader for DDI's manufacturing and distribution facility. "With roll feed from the DocuSheeter, the Xerox iGen3 press is never down for re-loading - it ran nearly one million images last month. And, it reduces our labor requirements as well." The DocuSheeter iG consists of a quick-change unwinder, cutter, and sheet transport. The system feeds single sheets on demand to the Xerox iGen3 110 Digital Production Press from a 50-inch diameter roll. With large rolls running up to 15 hours or more before depleting, both printer and labor productivity gains are significant. A wide range of stocks can be fed from the DocuSheeter iG. Bond, book, and cover stocks, coated and uncoated, in a broad basis weight range, are all available in roll form. Any of these papers that deviate from standard commodity reams, such as lighter or heavier weights, odd sizes, or coated papers, are especially cost-effective in roll form, with savings up to 30% or more. The Lasermax Roll Systems DocuSheeter iG is available in North America through the Xerox sales force and outside of North America through the Lasermax Roll Systems dealer network. Lasermax Roll Systems is a Xerox Business Partner.
