ManRoland's KAMA TS 74 Sales Grow Significantly

Press release from the issuing company

Sales of MAN Roland's KAMA TS 74 automatic diecutting presses have grown quickly since it was introduced at Graph Expo 2000 as a new addition to MAN Roland North America's line of post-press equipment. During the exposition, a new KAMA TS 74 diecutting press demonstrated its flexibility by diecutting, channel scoring and perforating jobs printed on the new Roland 200S press. "We felt we had a very viable product for the market niche going into the Graph Expo exposition," said Randy Levake, MAN Roland product manager for Sugano and KAMA equipment. "Since demonstrating the unit at the show, we have sold all the units we had in inventory and have taken orders for still more. "Buyers realize that the KAMA TS 74 is perfect for today's market: It is a solid new product at about the same price as a used diecutting press," said Levake. "Another reason for the TS 74's sales success is its use of technology: No conventional gripper bars or chains are used allowing very good registration. Unlike older diecutting presses, it does not require a highly skilled operator to achieve good results." New KAMA TS 74 diecutting presses have been installed at printing plants in Miami, Florida, and San Antonio, Texas, since the show. "The Miami press installation went very quickly," said Levake. "The TS 74 was installed on a Monday and began running jobs on Tuesday. " The KAMA TS 74 and the larger format TS 102 offer a compact, space-saving footprint and a diecutting solution that is economical enough to replace many older clamp-type or cylinder-type diecutters. The German-made KAMA products represent extensive experience in the construction of machines for general commercial diecutting, and for making folding boxes and packaging from paper and cardboard. Designed for short-run diecutting, the presses operate in parallel with the press and offer automated feeding, punching and delivery in a unit that is engineered for simplicity, durability and quality. The KAMA TS 74 handles sheet sizes up to 21.28 x 29.16 inches, and the TS 102 handles sheet sizes up to 28.3 X 40.1 inches. Both diecutting presses offer fast changeover, user friendly operation, a reliable feeder, high register accuracy, and a robust punching station. They utilize the same grip edge as the printing press and can handle a wide range of material thickness from light to heavy, including micro-corrugated board.
