Agfa Graphics Previews Brand Protection Software at Emballage

Press release from the issuing company

Agfa Graphics today announced that it will preview new brand protection software at the Emballage World Packaging Exhibition in Paris, France, 20-24 November 2006. Drawing on Agfa patents and expertise in high-end security software with the :Fortuna solution, which protects 75% of the world's banknotes, the company plans to bring security software that plugs into standard packaging design packages. Using the new solution, printed packages will include design features that make imitations recognisable as such to combat counterfeit printing. "Major brand owners are looking for solutions to stop counterfeit package printing, which dilutes the value of their global brand assets, " said Agfa Graphics director of the packaging segment, Peter Verrijt. "We believe that we can offer a solution that can help marketers and package printers stay ahead of counterfeiters and protect their brand. Our software will let design packaging with security features that can stop up to 80% of counterfeiters. We are looking forward to demonstrating these new security features at Emballage in an exchange of ideas with brand owners and printers about their requirements and how our technology can help them."
