HP Helps Customers Discover Their Digital Difference at Graph Expo

PALO ALTO, Calif., October 12, 2006 - HP today announced that at next week's Graph Expo trade show it will exhibit its complete portfolio of digital printing solutions in addition to conducting a series of educational sessions focused on growing and operating a digital print business. Offering the industry's only postcard to billboard digital printing portfolio supported by IT solutions, HP will provide customers with real-life tools and information that will help them take their digital business to a new level. "Today, we have all the tools and hardware in place for commercial printers to create a successful digital business," said Rich Raimondi, vice president and general manager, U.S. Graphic Arts Business, HP Imaging and Printing Group. "But to ensure success for tomorrow, we are providing our customers with the resources and information that will help them get more out of their technology investments and identify the wide variety of opportunities that digital presents." HP's showcase will be featured in three booths including booth #646, booth #4281 in the Wide-Format Pavilion, and booth #248, which is an HP customer lounge booth sponsored by the Digital Solutions Cooperative (Dscoop). HP Indigo Live OnStage At HP's Graph Expo booth #646, HP is premiering "HP Indigo Live OnStage," which supports the new business development programs that HP will introduce at Graph Expo. This series of free 30-minute in-booth seminars features industry experts who will discuss strategies for success across a range of digital printing markets. More than 20 sessions will be held during the trade show. Highlights include: - October 15: Charlie Corr of InfoTrends presenting the session, "Leverage Marketing Collateral for Growth" - October 16: Gary Pageau, president of the Photo Marketing Association International, presenting the session, "Get the Picture: Photo Specialty" - October 17: Greg Wasmuth of Modern Postcard presenting the session, "Seven Simple Steps to Effective Direct Mail" - October 18: Christian Schamberger of Mercury Print presenting the session "Digital Meets Publishers' Demands." In addition, HP customers will have informal learning and networking opportunities in the HP Customer Lounge, sponsored by Dscoop. Located in booth #248, this lounge is designed for HP customers to network and meet with clients as well as share ideas and creative strategies. It will also feature Dscoop members' own innovative, high-quality HP Indigo print projects. Postcard-to-billboard portfolio on display HP technologies are featured in booths #646 and #4281 at Graph Expo, offering a chance to see a portfolio of digital solutions that produce everything from postcards to billboards, stamps to building wraps. On display in booth #646 is the complete range of HP Indigo technology, including the HP Indigo presses 5000, w3250, 3050, s2000, and the new HP Indigo press ws4500 for labels and packaging. Based on the HP Indigo press ws4050 technology that has helped maintain HP's position as the market leader in digital color label presses(1), the HP Indigo press ws4500 cost-effectively produces a higher volume of jobs as well as longer print runs in an efficient, digital production environment. HP is also offering Label Job Estimator software, so that customers can determine whether their label jobs can be produced more economically on an HP Indigo press or a conventional press. New photo-specialty applications from HP Indigo include the Scalable RIP Solution (SRS), the HP Indigo Photo Image Enhancement package and HP Indigo photo color conversion tables that enable photofinishers, photo retailers and print service providers to efficiently produce high-value, high-quality photo-intensive applications. HP is presenting a complete platform of high-quality large-format and super-wide-format printing solution in Graph Expo's Wide-Format Pavilion, booth #4281. This booth will include the new 8-ink and 12-ink HP Designjet Z Photo Printer series, which features the industry's first-ever embedded spectrophotometer and, using HP Vivera inks, provides professional photographers, artists and creative professionals outstanding image quality and gloss uniformity. Adding to HP's line-up of indoor/outdoor signage products at Graph Expo is the HP Designjet 10000s Printer series. This new low-solvent piezoelectric printer produces durable high-quality super-wide format signs, banners, billboards, wall murals, and window and vehicle graphics with striking, vivid colors in sizes up to 104 inches wide and in resolutions up to 720 x 720 dpi. The new HP Scitex TJ8500 Printer, combining all the benefits of high-speed wide format digital printing with the high durability of UV inks, is also being showcased.
