IKON Expands Award-Winning Color Product Line with Launch of New 65 Page Per Minute Production Publishing System

Press release from the issuing company

MALVERN, Pa.-- IKON Office Solutions, the world's largest independent channel for document management systems and services, today introduced the IKON CPP 650, a color printing and copying system for commercial, corporate and central reproduction print environments. The latest in a series of private-label color products and systems developed with Konica Minolta, EFI and Kodak, the IKON CPP 650 combines powerful finishing capabilities with high-quality, high-speed color output, making short-run, in-house color production affordable for both office and commercial print environments. "The IKON CPP 650 reaffirms IKON's commitment to making best-in-class color print technology available to customers at a range of price points and speeds," said Brian Edwards, senior vice president of North American Sales and Services, IKON Office Solutions. "With enhanced color quality, speed and flexibility, the IKON CPP 650 is designed to answer the rising demand for high-quality, high-speed color output and helps make professional, color print production more profitable and affordable for our customers." The IKON CPP 650 offers color and black-and-white output of 65 pages per minute with a high-volume, 300,000 page monthly duty cycle. Its powerful image controller options are designed to manage sophisticated color functions with point-and-click simplicity, while providing a range of finishing features, including 200-page saddle-stitched and face-trimmed color booklets, folded output for mailers and inserts, and 100-sheet stapling for color presentations and reports. The IKON CPP 650's many features and capabilities can be further enhanced with a variety of variable data printing software, enabling personalized, high-impact product brochures, direct-mail campaigns, presentations, reports and training materials. A scalable, right-size solution, the IKON CPP 650 is designed to provide customers with production tools and performance options needed to create high-impact color documents, at a lower cost with a smaller footprint. The Fiery(TM) S450 Image Controller, based on EFI's newest generation Fiery System Software, features WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) job composition and imposition tools, workflow automation, professional quality color, advanced production tools, and flexible and open VDP capabilities. All copying and finishing functions are easily accessible through clear, intuitive menus, so operators can move jobs more quickly, and even temporary personnel can be productive right from the start. IKON also plans to launch the IKON PowerPro(TM) 650 controller powered by CREO Color Servers from Kodak in December. "With the right mix of output quality, speed, advanced finishing features and lower cost of ownership, the IKON CPP 650 answers an increasing demand for high-quality, high-speed color output and brings short-run, in-house color production within reach for commercial quick print and corporate environments," said Charlie Corr, group director, InfoTrends. The IKON CPP 650 is the latest in a series of award-winning color products and systems, and builds on the success of the IKON CPP 8050 - a 50 page per minute color system launched in 2003 - and the IKON CPP 500 - a color solution for office, commercial, graphic arts and corporate print environments, which was launched in 2005 and received the Better Buys for Business 2005 Editors' Choice Award. The 50 page per minute IKON CPP 500 is designed to allow customers to address increased print volumes and document complexity while maximizing digital output and ensuring exceptional color. IKON recently released new controller options for the IKON CPP 500, including the Fiery System 8e-based controller, EFI's new advanced, multifunction embedded print controller designed to ensure high-quality color, seamless network integration, and high levels of productivity, flexibility, and security for enterprise and office publishing environments. IKON's color portfolio is backed by a network of more than 6,000 highly trained and tenured technical service professionals. Customers can also maximize the value of their IKON color systems through IKON's Professional Services specialists who provide ongoing color calibration, advanced forms design, data stream conversion and custom workflow, in addition to objective assessments that assist customers in identifying the right document management and workflow strategy.
