Agfa's Proofing Solutions Obtain Official fogra Certification

Press release from the issuing company

Agfa Graphics announced today that the :SherpaProof line of digital proofing systems has been given official certification from the respected European printing organisation, fogra Graphic Technology Research Association. In recent testing, fogra certified Agfa's :SherpaProof systems (fogra certification number 20047) for their ability to produce proofs that comply to the IS12647-2 and IS12647-4 standards (offset and gravure printing). Agfa's systems were certified for nine different printing conditions including screened proofing with :SherpaDot (dot-for-dot technology). "Agfa Graphics has been a leader in the proofing field for a long time and we are proud to offer systems which meet the fogra specifications," said Paul Adriaensen, Agfa Graphics worldwide marketing manager for proofing and screening solutions. ":SherpaProof users and their customers can rest assured that their proofs conform to the highest international standards thanks to innovations in our :ColorTuneX colour management and :ApogeeX workflow software." The certified system has several components, including: * :ApogeeX workflow with optional :SherpaDot * :SherpaProof Media (AMDP); proofing substrate certified by fogra * :QmsX quality management system * EPSON Stylus Pro engine family The certification comes in a very busy year for Agfa's :SherpaProof systems. The microporous :SherpaProof media (AMDP) for pigment inks also received a certified status by fogra earlier this year as fogra-cert proof substrate (cert # 19527). In January, the :Sherpa and :SherpaProof systems received certification from the Specifications Web Offset Publications (SWOP) group, and the system also fared well in the fourth annual IPA colour proofing RoundUP in Chicago last June.
