Potlatch Announces ANCORA Coated Two-Side Paperboard for Commercial Printing Applications

Press release from the issuing company

LEWISTON, Idaho--Sept. 20, 2006-- Potlatch Forest Products Corporation today announced the introduction of ANCORA C2S, a new, coated two side paperboard, further demonstrating Potlatch's commitment to the commercial printing market where it has a long-standing history of success. "ANCORA was developed in response to explicit customer demand for a premium two-sided paperboard that leverages Potlatch's highly regarded service levels and proven paperboard product quality performance," said Mike Lappa, vice president of sales and marketing. ANCORA is ideally suited for high profile sales support, direct marketing and point-of-purchase materials, and features superior shade and brightness balance for excellent color reproduction. The paperboard promises predictable, consistent performance and side-to-side equality on a smooth, crisp sheet. "Because we manufacture ANCORA without optical brightening agents, we achieve a shade that's designed for consistent reproduction of natural-looking flesh tones. Perhaps more importantly, it stands up better to fluorescent lighting, experiencing far less fading or yellowing than other C2S paperboards on the market," said Chris Elskamp, ANCORA product manager for Potlatch. ANCORA C2S is made in the U.S.A. and is available in a wide range of calipers, from 8 to 24 pt, with 90 brightness and 65 gloss. ANCORA C2S is 100 percent Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified in keeping with Potlatch's commitment to the environment. Additionally, Potlatch Corporation, the parent company of Potlatch Forest Products Corporation, is the only publicly-traded company in North America to have all of its forest lands certified under each of the FSC, Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System standards. Produced in Lewiston, Idaho, ANCORA completes Potlatch's line of SBS paperboard products geared towards print market applications, which also includes C1S, Coated Backside (CBS) and Carded Packaging. The Company produces C1S, CBS and Carded Packaging under the Candesce brand, offering high availability and flexible ordering options. With headquarters in Spokane, Washington, Potlatch is the largest non-integrated SBS paperboard manufacturer in the United States. ANCORA is a trademark of Potlatch Forest Products Corporation.
