Meridian Graphics doubles production speed after installing Muller Martini Bravo-T saddle stitcher

Press release from the issuing company

Tustin, California - Completing more projects in less time is the definition of productivity, and Meridian Graphics is now stitching twice as many products per hour since installing a Bravo-T saddle stitcher from Muller Martini. "The Bravo-T replaced a 15-year-old Muller Minuteman, which we had outgrown," says Dave Melin, Vice President of Meridian Graphics, a full-service commercial printer. "The Minuteman was giving us 5,000 per hour and the Bravo-T is producing 10,000 per hour." The 10,000 cycle per hour performance that Meridian Graphics is achieving is especially impressive because the Bravo-T is rated at 11,000 c/hr...meaning that the stitcher is not only running very quickly, it's also running highly efficiently. To bring an even greater level of efficiency as well as versatility to its production capabilities, Meridian Graphics also installed a 3-hole punch attachment to be used with the new Muller Martini 449 trimmer. Meridian Graphics provides top quality sheet fed offset printing and produces many different kinds of products. Besides the running speed of its new Bravo-T stitcher, another important consideration is the ability to perform the fastest possible make-readies. The Bravo-T saddle stitcher features PLC assisted controls and a menu-guided screen for quick and easy set-ups and changeovers, enabling Meridian Graphics to save time, labor and expense in meeting the needs of its diversified roster of customers and their continually changing job requirements. Complementing the advanced engineering of the Bravo-T stitcher, the relationship that Meridian Graphics has had with Muller Martini over the years was also a factor in choosing the Bravo-T. "We have a comfort zone with Muller," continues Dave Melin. "They provide excellent service." In addition to the fastest make-readies of any medium-speed saddle stitcher on the market, the Muller Martini Bravo-T offers the highest price-performance ratio of any stitcher in its class. Other key advantages include: gripper and suction opening; individual 1:2/1:1 gearing; heavy-duty in-line single book trimmer; and frequency controlled drive. Bravo-T comes equipped with a three-knife trimmer and with its modular design, it can be expanded at any time to feed up to 14 signatures or 12 signatures with a cover folder feeder - fulfilling the demands of growing printing and binding businesses.
