Press release from the issuing company

DENVER--Aug. 9, 2006-- Quark Inc. announced today the availability of its free 30-day evaluation QuarkXPress 7 software. The evaluation software is available for Macintosh and Windows users and enables designers and publishers to explore the features of QuarkXPress 7 as fully functioning software. Macintosh users who are working on the new Intel-based machines can try QuarkXPress 7.01, the Universal Binary version of QuarkXPress 7 software. The software is available for download from the Quark Web site at www.quark.com/30days. In addition, the download is included in the upcoming issue of X-Ray Magazine. "X-Ray Magazine's staff was very involved in the QuarkXPress 7 Universal Binary testing, and we wanted to share our success with our readers," said Cyndie Shafstall, editor and publisher of X-Ray Magazine. "Including the evaluation software within X-Ray Magazine gives our subscribers the opportunity to experience the same level of success on their new Intel machines." "We are pleased to give our customers the ability to evaluate QuarkXPress 7 in a full production environment," said Jurgen Kurz, senior vice president of Quark desktop products. "The free evaluation offer is part of our commitment to our customers; they will be able to put the software through their own vigorous tests -- from saving documents to printing full projects -- before making a purchase decision. And we are confident that once users get the chance to fully explore the new features of QuarkXPress 7 that they will upgrade or make the move to purchase."
