NEW YORK, NY, Aug 02, 2006 -- Bowne & Co., Inc. today announced it has promoted William P. Penders to the role of President and Chief Operating Officer of its Financial Print business and a Senior Vice President of Bowne. In his expanded role, Penders will direct all worldwide sales and operations for Bowne's Financial Print business. He will report to David J. Shea, Bowne's President and Chief Operating Officer. An industry veteran, Penders has held a number of key leadership positions throughout Bowne, most recently as Chief Operating Officer of Financial Print and President of Bowne Investment Management. He joined the Company in 1986 as a customer service representative and became a sales executive shortly thereafter. Overseas, Penders has served as President of Bowne International, as well as Vice President and Sales Manager of Bowne's London office, the Company's first international operation, and Managing Director of Bowne's Singapore office. Under Penders' guidance, Bowne International experienced significant revenue growth and market share leadership in both Europe and Asia.
