Diario Panorama Creates Production Opportunities With Expansion Of Hybrid Tensor Press
Press release from the issuing company
WOODRIDGE, IL (July 28, 2006) – C.A. Diario Panorama of Venezuela is increasing production capabilities with the installation of two additional Tensor 4-high towers and two flying pasters. Installation of the units onto the existing eight-unit, 1 folder Tensor commercial footprint shaftless press is currently in progress.
Diario Panorama specified upgrades on the T-400BE tower units, including oil cooling, remote inking, a closed loop register guidance system, and a UV drying system for excellent hybrid production capabilities. The Tensor full-bearer T-400BE units are equipped with brush dampening and motorized ink fountain rollers.
Diario Panorama is the largest newspaper in eastern Venezuela, and has been in the news business for 91 years. With Panorama"s original footprint shaftless UV Tensor press installed in 2005, the newspaper rapidly grew its commercial business to include production of magazines, commercial inserts, tabloids and books. The 40” wide press is equipped with a four-web ribbon deck to increase pagination – 4 webs produce a 48 page tabloid. Conventional single-wide presses would generally require 6 towers running 6 webs to achieve that much pagination.
The sophisticated, yet user-friendly, footprint shaftless drive system fully integrates the main press controls and the auxiliary controls. It offers remote access control and a fully distributed, modular electrical design.
Panorama"s plant expansion, necessary due to increased contracts for commercial work, includes the construction of a new warehouse and an expanded post-press section.
Tensor provided complete project management to coordinate the supply and specification of auxiliary equipment, and is performing the full mechanical installation.
Tensor Group, Inc. is a privately held U.S. manufacturer of single width web offset press equipment for commercial, insert and newspaper markets worldwide. Over 1700 units have been successfully installed in more than 23 countries since its inception in 1993.
