Group 1 Software Extends Geocoding Solution to Support UK and Ireland Addresses

LANHAM, Md., June 21 -- Group 1 Software, Inc., a Pitney Bowes Company, today announced that its GeoStan(TM) geocoding solution now supports United Kingdom and Ireland addresses, providing multi-country address correction, standardization and high-definition geocoding in one pass. A component of Group 1's comprehensive Customer Communication Management (CCM) solution, GeoStan helps correct, standardize, and provide the location coordinates (latitude and longitude) associated with a particular valid address -- a process known as geocoding. GeoStan now supports U.S., Canadian, UK and Ireland locations, with additional country support planned for the future. GeoStan's high-definition data is used by insurance, telecommunications, transportation, finance, routing and mapping companies, among others, for a variety of marketing and operational applications, including identifying customers eligible for location-based services, more accurately identifying insurance rate territories, and providing starting and ending locations for optimizing delivery routes. Based on cascading geographic logic, GeoStan provides high-speed geocoding at successive degrees of precision to help ensure an accurate match for address data with minimal user effort.
