Award-Winning Photo-D Technology Line For Graphic Arts Professionals
New Photo-D RAW
Photo-D RAW is a professional, fully-automatic, RAW photo conversion and correction software that provides Photo and Graphic Arts professionals the use of the IES (Intelligent Expert System) capabilities to enhance photos for most major cameras and RAW formats. Users can customize the expert system parameters to improve the photo quality.
Photo-D RAW is customized through a preferences window that can be named and saved and be used later. Customizable options include: Dark Details; White Balance; Colorful, Selective Hues; Sharpen/Soften; Paper Type; Input/Output Device; and Print Size and Resolution. This version enables multiple size setting (smart scaling) and crop options with ICC workflow also available. Photo-D RAW optimizes the enhancement of hundreds of photos in a set per one mouse click. Images are then displayed side by side, for easy comparison and selection.
Moshe Keydar, president and founder of KlearVision, and former chief color scientist at Scitex; says, “We are pleased to bring our award-winning technology solutions to broader segments of this important, dynamically emerging printing market. The response we’ve had from photo labs in this part of the word has proven that we bring the region tremendous opportunity.
“We look forward to showing attending and fellow exhibits what our “intelligent” software can really do for them.”
Photo-D Solutions: An Overview
Photo-D is a comprehensive, rule-based Intelligent Expert System (IES) that automatically optimizes and enhances digital image files, preparing them for printing or viewing. Using sophisticated “fuzzy logic” and “artificial intelligence” (AI) algorithms, Photo-D, in effect, emulates the decision-making expertise of a traditional color expert, or digital imaging professional, to analyze, correct and produce high-quality image files. From these files, anyone – from a photo lab technician to a photo hobbyist; from a publishing house to a minilab at the corner drug store – can create exceptional images that are accurate in every way.
Photo-D software acquires sets of photos and analyzes them as a “human” graphic arts expert would. Photo-D looks for problems associated with under- or over-exposure, contrast, brightness, color and details, and then corrects the problems automatically to obtain optimal, quality results. Red-eye can be corrected to natural eye color automatically. The original and corrected photos are then displayed side.
Photo-D eliminates infinite man-hours spent “fixing” images in Photoshop or other image editing programs. It is an affordable technology built by a former chief color scientist at Scitex; so its applicability to graphic arts workflows, in particular, is extremely high.
The technology gives digital photography professionals, designers, and prepress professionals in the digital imaging and graphic arts markets a sophisticated, high volume, automatic digital image correction solution that not only speeds up processing, but also makes more digital pictures useable with just a click of the mouse.
With workflow capabilities such as predefined Hot Folders, and quick production of thousands of pictures per hour that is customizable to fit users’ needs, Photo-D is a user-friendly solution for professionals.
