EFI Delivers the World's Most Popular Production Color RIP To the Superwide Format Market
Press release from the issuing company
AMSTERDAM, Netherlands--May 16, 2006-- VUTEk, a division of EFI and the recognized leader in superwide-format printer technology, is exhibiting the new Fiery XF RIP software at FESPA Digital Printing Europe (Stand B450, Hall 9; 16-18 May, 2006, RAI, Amsterdam). EFI Fiery XF software delivers high-speed processing, exceptional color quality and increased productivity. The Fiery XF software, using Bestcolor Technology, enables the addition of multiple proofing devices to the production equipment, and integration with EFI Print Management Information Systems (MIS) and Web2Print products. EFI is the world leader in digital controllers, superwide format printers and inks, and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing.
EFI Fiery XF software provides users of VUTEk superwide format printers with advanced production capabilities through an intuitive, easy-to-use graphic user interface and preview feature with sound zooming to simplify work. Drag-and-drop functionalities and wizards shorten the learning curve and make job start up easy.
"This is another great example of the synergy between EFI and VUTEk technology," states Andrew Brown, senior vice president/general manager, VUTEk. "With Fiery technology's experience and know-how in color management and color quality coupled with VUTEk's powerful, productive superwide-format printers, customers will benefit from best-in-class software and hardware solutions and be provided with the means to gain a significant competitive edge in the market."
Preliminary customer feedback indicates that EFI Fiery XF software and VUTEk printers are providing consistently impressive color quality, allowing users the ability to match colors and achieve a high degree of consistency.
The nesting function of Fiery XF software saves material and money by allowing users to output any number of files together in one single job, even files with different color spaces. A preview window simplifies work processes by showing the nesting layout and supports a wide range of functions such as moving, scaling, rotating, flipping and cropping. EFI Fiery XF also allows users to order, align and distribute multiple pages simultaneously.
Fiery XF software offers a step and repeat function that allows users to create any number of images, serving as an effective tool for producing tickets or labels. It quickly generates patterns by defining whether or not images are repeated horizontally, vertically or should be mirrored.
A tiling feature allows users to divide documents that are larger than the printer's width into strips or tiles for individual printing. With features such as freely definable, overlapping crop marks and tile numbering, image reassembly is easy -- ideal for billboards, stage graphics, wall murals or bus wraps.
Fiery XF software provides sophisticated ICC-based color management and easy-to-use color adjustment functions to ensure consistent and excellent colors from VUTEk's superwide format printers. International spot color tables are built in, ensuring correct reproduction of company colors and logos. Advanced features, such as generating ICC profiles and optimizing existing profiles, allow users to achieve appealing colors and tones that meet customer demands. EFI Fiery XF software also works seamlessly with spectrophotometers from GretagMacbeth or X-Rite. And, with the solution's linearization tool, users can produce consistent, accurate color output every time.
EFI Fiery XF software's modular structure offers an easy migration path to increased functionality. Users can add the Color Verifier Option to assure consistent color quality -- even on remote sites -- or use the EFI Fiery XF software to connect xerographic devices to do concept proofs or digital print runs.
EFI Fiery XF will also be the pathway for integrating EFI's industry-leading Print MIS solution in the future. The next release of Fiery XF will support the exchange of job information from the MIS to the Fiery and the return of job costing from the equipment back to the MIS. This will allow users to track materials usage, machine performance and labor utilization automatically -- all with the goal of making a printer's operation more efficient and profitable.
EFI Fiery XF software will be available from early Q3 2006. The new solution will be showcased at FESPA Digital Printing Europe, RAI, Amsterdam, 16-18 May, 2006, Stand B450, Hall 9. More information on EFI Fiery XF software and VUTEk superwide format printers can be found at www.vutek.com/fieryxf.
