Oce Imagistics Introduces the Total Workgroup Productivity Center

Press release from the issuing company

TRUMBULL, Conn.--May 15, 2006-- Oce Imagistics Inc. introduced today the Oce Imagistics cm2520 MFP to deliver fast, high-quality color and productivity beyond color or monochrome output. At 25ppm, the cm2520 is a total workgroup productivity center that is both a viable monochrome MFP as well as a color device. The standard on-board print/scan controller enables users to scan documents to E-mail, an FTP server, desktop or specially setup User Box on the cm2520's 40 GB HDD. Ultra compact PDF scanning reduces file sizes by up to 85% to reduce network traffic from increased use of scanning applications. The Super G3 fax option with PC fax and inbound routing and the powerful finishing capabilities are features that round out the cm2520 productivity and efficiency making it a strong document printing and scanning solution for the workgroup. The cm2520 can print onto a wide variety of media ranging in size and weight from 4" x 6" to 12" x 18" and up to 140 lb. index stock. Transparencies, labels or envelopes can be loaded in both the standard multi-purpose and bypass trays. The cm2520 uses an advanced network utility for device management that helps configure, monitor and manage printers remotely and easily from a single console. A host of security options to protect critical data includes network authentication, secure print/job and HDD random erase. "The cm2520 is a total "out of the box" solution ideal for busy workgroups with deadlines that were due yesterday," said John Reilly, vice president, marketing at Oce Imagistics Inc. "We constantly strive to provide our customers with easy-to-use MFPs that foster high-productivity levels and drive their business forward. We can now offer a total solution to small to medium sized office workgroups looking for a Segment 2 monochrome replacement who thought that a color solution was out of their reach," continued Reilly. "Whether it's fast, high-impact color or 60 page booklets that are folded and stapled for professionally finished results in-house, the cm2520 handles it quickly and cost-effectively to maximize their investment." "When Oce acquired Imagistics, the key strategic goal was to accelerate growth by offering comprehensive document management hardware and software solutions to all segments of the US market," said Joseph D. Skrzypczak, president and chief executive officer of Oce Imagistics Inc. "The product lines of Oce and Imagistics are a perfect complement, with Oce offering high speed and wide format solutions and Imagistics bringing its best of breed products to the office, government and educational markets. Both Oce and Imagistics have been aggressively launching new products this year, and the launch of the cm2520 demonstrates Imagistics' focus on color products, the fastest growing part of the printing market. With the launch of the cm2520, we now have five color MFP's in the Imagistics lineup, complementing two Oce color products. This represents a key stepping stone in our ability to offer a complete range of value added solutions and world class products and services to our customers." Color Productivity With fast high-impact output, the cm2520 produces vivid and sharp images at 1800 x 600 dpi-enhanced resolution with 256 color shades per pixel and true 8-bit color depth. The cm2520 automatically adjusts to suit the required result of either subtle halftone reproduction or laser sharp text and handles it quickly and cost-effectively to maximize the investment. The Automatic Image Stabilization assures consistent high quality imaging over long print or copy runs. Additionally, monochrome output quality and productivity is not compromised making the cm2520 an outstanding general-purpose workgroup MFP. Total Workgroup Productivity Center A total solution right "out of the box", the cm2520 has the ability to continue running through critical job periods. Ideal for busy, small to medium size workgroups, the cm2520 uses the easy document management and 25ppm scanning functions to control documents to suit the user's needs. A control panel with large keys guides the user through the copy, scan or fax functions. The device also utilizes an intuitive print driver interface that includes a main screen preview window to view jobs pre-completion. The cm2520's design is equipped with three-tilting positions of the control panel for wheelchair access by individuals with disabilities. cm2520 Availability The cm2520 is currently available and designed to support total productivity and fast, cost-effective color when needed. The MFP is network ready with a PCL6 (XL) and PS3 emulation print controller. With a 40 GB hard disk drive and 512 MB standard memory, the cm2520 is both fast and efficient. The optional fax offers a 33.6 Kbps modem speed with JBIG compression and Super G3 compatibility. Network security features include network authentication, secure/print job and HDD random erase.
