Single Click Entry from Oce Document Technologies Unites Applications and Documents

Press release from the issuing company

BETHESDA, Md.--May 9, 2006-- Oce Document Technologies, a division of Oce, will introduce their patent-pending Single Click Entry software for efficient manual data entry at the AIIM/ON DEMAND Conference and Exposition, May 16-18 in Philadelphia, PA at the Oce North America Booth 2800. Single Click Entry (SCE) turns the mouse into a convenient device for efficient manual data entry, transferring data from documents to applications - any application - with a single mouse click. SCE is designed to increase the efficiency and improve the accuracy of data transfers from document to database for low to moderate document volumes. Entering document data into applications is a monotonous and time-consuming job. Although increasing numbers of documents are becoming available in digital form, either as scanned images or original digital files, this does not eliminate the need for entering data, typically by typing. When a number of data fields need to be entered, such as names, addresses, and case numbers, copying and pasting is too cumbersome and prone to error, with data fields either missed or erroneously populated. With SCE, Oce Document Technologies has solved this problem. Users needing to enter document data into applications - ERP, CRM, DMS, or others - briefly switch to the SCE document application, which lists the input fields of the target application. Transferring the data is accomplished with a single click. Once the last input field has been completed, SCE automatically switches back to the target application. A once error-prone job that would have taken minutes is now done in seconds. Most office employees today are not trained data entry clerks but highly-paid specialists, and their work time is too valuable to waste with menial typing work. However, there are numerous instances where they may need to collect data from various documents and enter it into a database or report. SCE is designed to eliminate the tedium and consequent likelihood of error in these circumstances, and permits knowledge workers to be more productively employed. Additionally, SCE helps with accurate indexing that facilitates fast retrieval, particularly of unstructured documents that are frequently haphazardly stored. "If you want to index an unstructured document, and the metadata is part of the document itself, SCE allows you to effectively extract that data with a single mouse click," said Michael Breithaupt, Technical Director, Oce Document Technologies. A trial version of Single Click Entry is available now for download at: www.singleclickentry.com.
