CGS and All Printing Resources join forces to bring contract-quality proofing to the flexo market

Press release from the issuing company

Louisville, KY (April 30, 2006) – At this year's InfoFlex, CGS and All Printing Resources (APR) announced a national reseller's agreement, adding the ORIS family of products to APR's premium offerings for flexographic printers. Effective immediately, the company will sell and support CGS' award-winning color proofing and workflow technology, including the recently-announced ORIS Package Pro, within the US flexo market. The move highlights ORIS' increasing popularity in the packaging market. Version 5.2 of CGS' flagship product, ORIS Color Tuner, has been well received by major flexographic designers and printers, including Matthews Packaging Graphics. In addition to its powerful color matching and auto-calibration features, ORIS is the sole proofing system to support multi-channel Generic Output Profiles (GOP) – a significant workflow advantage for packaging printers. GOP support, advanced halftone screening and other features will be part of a new product, ORIS Package Pro, announced at Ipex and available later this year. “We are especially pleased to offer CGS' digital proofing and workflow to our many flexo customers,” said Rick Mix, APR's VP Business Development. “APR prides itself in offering best-in-class products and services. With ORIS' extraordinary color proofing, we've found a cost-effective solution that will enable our flexo customers – designers and printers alike – to profit in this increasingly competitive market.” ORIS technology combines high-end color management with proofing-specific ink and media for affordable inkjet devices. Its robust spot/custom color handling and Hexachrome support are particularly critical for packaging production. ORIS Color Tuner's iterative automatic color matching and device calibration earned it the GATF InterTech Technology Award for innovation, and have since been enhanced with easy-to-use software Wizards.
