UETERSEN, Germany, Mar. 27, 2006 – The Global Speciality Papers Group of Stora Enso Oyj has introduced NovaSet, a new label paper that is ideally suited for premium beverages such as wine, champagne and spirits. This product development is in direct response to customer demand for a high-white label paper that provides necessary product differentiation at the point of sale.
NovaSet is an 80 gsm high-white, natural matt label paper that offers wet strength, alkali resistance and high wet opacity. It has been optimized for trouble-free, economical use in printing and labeling machines for wines and spirits, as well as premium mineral waters and soft drinks. NovaSet‘s exceptional finish provides outstanding point-of-sale eye appeal and a natural paper texture that is an important component of label design.
Thanks to its outstanding printability and numerous finishing possibilities – such as bronzing hot-foil embossing – and four available embossing patterns, NovaSet can easily be integrated into any brand line. Like all Stora Enso label papers, NovaSet can be used for the production of wet-glue or self-adhesive labels (“Double Track”).
Initial market trials with NovaSet have been remarkably successful. “Direct communication with producers is essential in keeping up to date with the requirements of the market. By listening to our customers, we developed NovaSet as a high-white counterpart to our ArtiSet ivory-shade, natural matt label paper,” said Eckhard Kallies, sales director for label and technical papers at Stora Enso. “We will continue intensive customer dialog in order to develop new products to meet the needs of our customers.”
With the introduction of NovaSet, Stora Enso now offers five label papers that are specially suited to the needs of packaging designers, advertising agencies, label printers, and the producers of wine, sparkling wine, spirits and food. VivaSet, MatisSet, NovaSet, ArtiSet and SuperCote WS are available in up to six different surface structures. Samples can be ordered free of charge from Stora Enso by sending an e-mail to [email protected]
