H. Bauer Selects Remote Director Monitor Proofing

Press release from the issuing company

Düsseldorf - June 6, 2008 - Remote Director from Integrated Color Solutions (ICS) has been selected for use by H. Bauer Publishing, the largest privately owned publisher in Europe. Jeffrey Silverman, CEO of ICS, announced today that the initial installation was successfully completed at Bauer Druck Köln KG, which produces major magazine titles requiring production runs of 11,000,000 per week. ICS partner Otterbach Group brought Remote Director, renowned for unique accuracy, color, and real-time proofing capabilities; as well as flexible, multi-platform and multiple monitor support; to Bauer Druck Köln KG, one of numerous Bauer prepress and printing plants in the world.

Otto Engelhard, managing partner at Otterbach Group, says that Bauer feels confident, after testing Remote Director extensively, that it will implement the solution throughout its printing plant network. In addition, Engelhard says that the editorial departments will be equipped with Remote Director.

"It is clear that Remote Director will afford increased efficiencies and the ability to provide better service to our clients. It is easy to make the decision to adopt a solution when it returns as powerfully as this one does," says Klaus-Peter Petschat of H. Bauer Publishing.

"ICS is proud to have been chosen by Bauer, one of the most prestigious publishing houses in Europe," says Silverman. "The organization's acceptance of Remote Director technology is testimony to the strength of our product, especially in terms of its power to work across varied international environments. We thank both Otterbach and Bauer for the opportunity to be a part of their solutions for these high-end workflows."

Remote Director makes it possible for several users, in different locations, to simultaneously look at and access the colors and contents of a proof, to navigate alternately the layout of the proof, and with the help of small digital "sticky notes", to discuss and comment on the proofs; making notes and giving instructions for corrections. Based on this process, a complete digital script leading into a seamless documentation of the proofing system can be made, including a legally binding "digital signature".
