Gateway Printing and Graphics Reports High Satisfaction with First Komori Press

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL, February 23, 2006-Komori America Corporation, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, today announced Gateway Printing and Graphics, Inc. of Hamburg, NY, a 25-year old commercial printer serving corporations nationwide, has recently installed a Komori five-color Lithrone 28 (NL528) with coater. This is the first Komori press for Gateway Printing, replacing a Heidelberg Speedmaster. The NL528 was chosen for its quick makeready and impressive throughput capabilities. Gateway reports it has dramatically increased its productivity, time to market and overall sales revenue by 22 percent with the ability to significantly add to the amount and type of applications it is now able to produce since installing the NL528. "Our volume had increased in our color line prior to installing the press so we needed a press that would stay with us throughout the long haul," said Jeff Donner, president, Gateway Printing and Graphics. "I was impressed with the makeready speed of the NL528, as well as its throughput speed. But my final decision was made after talking to a tenured press operator. He told me that, of all the presses he had run throughout his career, Komori was by far the best equipment he had operated. Additionally, the Komori service experience is heads and tails above anything we've experienced in the past. They have been on top of everything. If I had to put in another printing press next week, it would definitely be a Komori." The NL528 offers Gateway the added capacity it required while responding to the company's need for versatility in handling different substrates. Also integral to the company's overall satisfaction with the press is the addition of an inline coating system that allows Gateway to respond to client demands for high-end applications and the advanced automation capabilities that provide low-cost, efficient, high-quality color printing. "Gateway Printing and Graphics has grown at an impressive pace by demonstrating its commitment to do whatever it takes to satisfy the customer," said Ken Sabol, vice president of sales for Komori's Eastern Region. "Komori has the same philosophy, which makes working with a company like Gateway Printing and Graphics a pleasure. We are proud of the fact that they installed their first Komori and are completely satisfied with the experience."
