VUTEk Adds 600 DPI Mode for PressVu UV 320/400 3.2-Meter Rigid and Roll-to-Roll UV-Curing Flatbed Printer
Press release from the issuing company
MEREDITH, N.H. (February 14, 2006) – VUTEk, a division of EFI, has introduced a new 600 dpi mode for the PressVu UV 320/400 UV-curing flatbed printer featuring improved text quality – especially for applications that require close viewing. EFI (www.efi.com) is the world leader in digital controllers, superwide format printers and inks, and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing.
Existing VUTEk PressVu UV 320/400 UV-curing flatbed printer customers can upgrade to include this capability in the field, with no additional cost, starting in Q2, 2006. With this upgrade, PressVu UV 320 UV-curing flatbed printer customers will have the option of printing in either 400 dpi or 600 dpi mode. When available, all new printers shipped will include the upgrade.
Starting at $299,000, the PressVu UV 320/400 UV-curing flatbed printer is the most productive in its class and is designed to help digital print providers increase profitability. It accommodates rigid substrates up to 126 inches (3.2 meters) wide, and offers productivity up to 1,000 square feet (93 square meters) per hour, equal to 20 - 4’ x 8’ (14 - 2 meter x 3 meter) sheets per hour. It also features roll-to-roll capability, giving customers the flexibility to offer a full range of services.
It is ideal for applications ranging from billboard to high quality P-O-P and everything in between.
The PressVu UV 320/400 is available as a four-color model, and prints high-quality, 400 dpi (and 600 dpi when it becomes available) resolution images on rigid substrates up to 1.75 inches (4.45 cm) thick. Ruggedly built for reliable, around-the-clock productivity, the PressVu UV 320/400 prints on a wide range of sheet-fed and roll-to-roll substrates. Set up is quick and easy, and can be done by one person in less than one minute, allowing customers to focus their time on producing, not preparing.
The two-printer-in-one capability of the PressVu UV 320/400 allows customers to print on both rigid and flexible materials, so customers can offer a more comprehensive range of applications, increasing their value to their customers while driving up profitability. The switch between flatbed and roll-to-roll can be completed in less than a minute, barely affecting the printer’s overall productivity.
