Color Spectrum Network 'Not Your Every Day Carton Printer'

Press release from the issuing company

VALHALLA, N.Y. (January 27, 2006) – When one of Color Spectrum Network’s customers was looking for ideas that would help their product stand out on store shelves, they turned to the Atlanta printer for help. A Fujifilm customer, Color Spectrum Network relies on Fujifilm’s FinalProof GxT digital contract proofer to bring their ideas to life. In order to help their customer’s products jump off of store shelves, Color Spectrum Network’s proofing capabilities allowed them to suggest using a metallic ink in their design and, thanks to the new FinalProof GxT, they were able to show the customer just what they were recommending. “Because the FinalProof GxT allows us to laminate to any substrate, we were able to show our customer how their metallic ink would look on metalized poly board by laminating the proof directly on it,” explained David Harlan, marketing director for Color Spectrum Network. “We were able to die cut, fold, glue and present it to them as an exact replica of what will sit on the store shelf.” Harlan credits the FinalProof GxT with having a tremendous impact on the company’s business. “The FinalProof GxT has helped us garner new business and build stronger relationships with our customers,” he added. “A lot of people will say that it’s just a proofer, but to us it’s a marketing tool. That’s what makes it so fantastic.” In addition to the FinalProof GxT, Color Spectrum Network also uses Fujifilm’s PictroProof digital contone proofer along with the Javelin CTP device, with Fujifilm’s LPH-SE plates, to round out their prepress department. “The Javelin has been fantastic and the reliability is outstanding,” raved Harlan. “We’re able to hang the plates and let them go.” The Javelin platesetter at Color Spectrum Network features both an autoloader and an automatic in-line punching system. The Javelin’s punching system performs two types of punching (for both press and platesetter registrations) simultaneously, enabling users to eliminate human error and achieve perfect registration. According to Harlan, Color Spectrum Network selected the Fujifilm devices because of the reliability and quality they’re able to achieve. Color Spectrum Network also prides itself on using the best and latest technologies and equipment and Fujifilm played a big part of that. “We’re a high quality folding carton printer and we pride ourselves on what we’re able to offer our customers,” he said. “We aren’t just your everyday printer. That’s why we rely on Fujifilm.”
