Vertis Enhances Client Offering With Ics Advanced Soft Proofing Solutions

Press release from the issuing company

BALTIMORE (December 14, 2005) – Vertis announced today a business agreement to adopt proofing solutions with Integrated Color Solutions, Inc. (ICS). Under the agreement, Vertis can now provide clients with advanced soft proofing solutions that allow reviewers in different locations to collaborate online during the proofing process. “The ICS system will enhance the Vertis Online/Soft Proofing solution, allowing photographers, agencies, clients, prepress shops, and printers to communicate more effectively and efficiently,” said Dave Colatriano, senior vice president and general manager for Vertis. “By allowing reviewers to work online in real time or at their convenience, our clients can now edit and approve projects in hours, as compared to what used to take days.” The solution is certified by SWOP (Specifications for Web Offset Publications) and is the first and only online proofing system to deliver color accuracy on both Macintosh and Windows-based computers. It provides onscreen verification of color accuracy, including a built-in densitometer, and uses industry standard International Color Consortium (ICC) profiles. The software also supports RGB and CMYK workflows, and all standard production file formats. “The ICS solution is designed to work seamlessly with existing systems to boost collaboration,” said John Sweeney, vice president of sales and marketing for ICS. “By integrating our remote proofing solution into Vertis' digital proofing workflow, digital asset and content management systems, the entire ad production process is streamlined.”
