Milford Enterprises Installs PressVu UV 200/600 to Expand Customer Offering

Press release from the issuing company

Meredith, N.H. (December 13th, 2005) - Pennsylvania-based point-of-purchase specialist, Milford Enterprises Inc., is using its newly installed VUTEk PressVu UV 200/600 to increase productivity and service to customers. The direct to substrate printing capability of the new printer now enables Milford to produce large format digital printing in-house, lowering costs and providing customers with premium quality graphics, on time. Kurt Althouse, Milford Enterprises, vice president manufacturing, comments, “Prior to our PressVu UV 200/600 installation, we outsourced our large format jobs to local silkscreen printers. But this was very expensive and our suppliers were finding it increasingly difficult to match our own high standards and deadlines. “By having the capability to produce large format graphics in-house, we now have much more control and also enjoy significant productivity and cost saving benefits.” Milford's VUTEk PressVu UV 200/600 was installed in April 2005. Almost immediately, the printer was put to work producing graphics for the launch of a new “Champion Toilet” from American Standard. Sold through a nationwide dealer network of 50 hardware stores, the American Standard toilets featured images printed directly onto 3mm Sintra panels, made up as display boxes to promote the new “Champion Flushing System”. Althouse continues, “Our VUTEk PressVu UV 200/600 gives us the flexibility to print on a huge variety of rigid and flexible substrates, and explore new ways of meeting our customers' marketing objectives. This is a big benefit to retail companies who increasingly need bigger, bolder and more creative POP graphics to sell their products – a big factor for American Standard.” With graphic panels measuring 40 cm x 50 cm, the American Standard product displays were used to demonstrate the new flushing system, but with an internal water pump to enable the toilet to be displayed on the shop floor without the need for external water or plumbing. As such, the printed panels were made up into boxes to hide the demonstration pipe-work. On each panel's surface, the PressVu UV printed explanatory text and colorful diagrams to market the system. Althouse comments, “For its first job, the PressVu UV performed fantastically for the American Standard graphics. Since then we have been incredibly impressed by the printer's ability to adapt to any application, with little operator interaction. Thanks to this flexibility, combined with its robust build quality and productivity benefits, we truly believe that the sky's the limit with the PressVu UV 200/600.” Established in 1983, Milford Enterprises Inc. currently employs 140 people at its 135,000 sq ft state of the art facility in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. Enjoying continuous growth since its inception, the company has recently opened a new graphic design department, providing customers with a one-stop-shop service for all forms of POP and indoor graphic requirements. Althouse concludes, “For us, VUTEk is a perfect partner. Its philosophy of focusing on the quality of the end product mirrors that of our own company's ethos: absolute customer satisfaction.”
