Vertis Certified For Ncoalink By United States Postal Service

Press release from the issuing company

BALTIMORE (December 1, 2005) – Vertis is pleased to announce it is now certified as a limited service provider of the United States Postal Service’s (USPS) NCOALink product. Using NCOALink’s secure data storage technology, Vertis can now process client address files in-house with real-time move updates. “As a NCOALink limited service provider, we are offering our clients the most accurate mailing lists possible,” said Dave Colatriano, senior vice president and general manager of direct marketing and premedia for Vertis. “We are very excited about this designation, and the positive impact it will have on our clients’ direct marketing initiatives.” The USPS is working on several initiatives to decrease the amount of undeliverable mail it must handle every year. NCOALink allows Vertis to ensure that its customers' mail is as accurate as possible to facilitate prompt delivery and control costs. According to the Census Department, 14.8 percent of the U.S. population relocates every year, which results in the redirection of 3.3 billion pieces of first class mail. In an effort to provide greater access to its National Change-of-Address database, the Postal Service created the NCOA platform. Featuring a higher level of data encryption, NCOALink can be licensed by individual businesses to correct customer address information before it enters the mail stream. Designed to protect customer privacy, licensees can only obtain the new information if they already possess the customer’s name and an old address.
