Navigator GPS shipments begin

Press release from the issuing company

Ann Arbor, Michigan – November 17, 2005 – Xitron, the prepress industry's leading independent developer and integrator of Raster Image Processors, RIP management software and workflow solutions; announced today that shipments of Navigator GPS featuring the popular Navigator RIP and Navigator RIP Manager have begun. Navigator GPS was announced and demonstrated at PRINT 05 in September. It includes the latest release of the Navigator RIP (based on Harlequin RIP core technology) along with the Navigator RIP Manager, a client-based software tool allowing prepress operators control of the RIP from their desktops. “Our pre-press department was using four different RIPS. This often led to inconsistencies between the resulting outputs from the separate RIPS. With Navigator GPS we are able to streamline everything into one workflow,” stated Kim Robinson of the Envelope Printery. The new release also includes vDot-II, Xitron’s exclusive proofing plugin option for Epson K3 printers including the Epson 2400, 4800, 7800 and 9800. The new device driver provides users with a professional-quality RIP to drive these printers for proofing applications. Utilizing the same RIP technology for both proofing and final output helps assure data integrity and consistency, especially critical in an all digital environment.
