ICC Introduces New Web Site

Press release from the issuing company

The International Color Consortium has introduced a new web site at www.color.org, designed to make information about the ICC’s work more accessible and easier to use, both for individuals who are new to color management and color management developers. The new site features: · Improved navigation · New site-search facility · Section designed for new color management users · Details on the V4 ICC specification and profiles, advantages of using V4 and products supporting the current version · Increased functionality of the Members-Only section · A test to analyze whether a user’s system handles V4 files correctly · New White Papers on topics at fundamental, intermediate and advanced levels of color management The site also features an interactive capability to ask questions with ICC Technical Secretary Dr. Philip Green and is available in a French version. “We conducted a number of informal user and developer surveys to find out how we could make ICC easier to use,” said ICC Chairman Craig Revie, Fuji Film Electronic Imaging. “One of the consistent messages we received from these surveys was that while the web site contained a lot of really useful information, it was difficult to find. The new web site layout addresses this problem and also adds new content. Most users come to our web site first to find information on color - I hope that now they will be able to find what they need very quickly. Technical Secretary Phil Green has done a great job in putting the new layout together and I'm sure would welcome any user feedback.”
