[Cohoes, NY] – Mohawk Fine Papers Inc. announces exciting news for it’s top-selling Via Portfolio.
VIA 101 is a new paper promotion designed by the California-based AdamsMorioka. This tongue-in-cheek promotion appeals to the reader’s intelligence and sense of humor by “teaching” the reader how to look at a paper promotion. The mixture of bright, detailed and campy photography with absurdly funny copy is a recipe for out-loud laughter.
“The feedback about Via from merchants, printers, designers, specifiers and the combined sales team is all very positive. Via is known for its versatility, value and innovative educational ‘Basics’, and this new promotion holds true to all those core elements,” says Laura Shore, Mohawk’s Senior Vice President Communications.
VIA 101, printed on a combination of papers including, Via Pure White, Smooth, 100 Cover and Text 100, Via Sunflower, Vellum, 80 Cover, and Via Light Green, Smooth, 80 Cover, demonstrates the paper’s printability with highlights, contrast and detail.
Via 25% Cotton, Light Cockle has just been added to the Via Portfolio. Made with non-polluting windpower, this new watermarked finish allows Via to compete in new markets. Now Via can be thought of for government bids and as an alternative to economy writing grades.
Via 25% Light Cockle is a 94 bright, 30% PCW sheet and is available in two sizes: 8.5 x 11 and 35 x 23. The new Light Cockle finish has a rich vellum surface and is laser guaranteed. Matching business card stock is Via Smooth or Via Vellum 80 Cover. Matching #10 commercial flap envelopes are available through National Envelope.

Via is environmentally friendly. The 30% PCW Via Portfolio has recently joined the highly regarded Mohawk Windpower Portfolio. Beginning October 1, 2005, Mohawk began manufacturing the Via product line entirely with windpower. This commitment to wind energy allowed Mohawk to join the highest level of EPA Green Power Partnership Leadership Club and has earned Mohawk a top ranking (#13) in the EPA List of Top 25 U.S. Green Power Purchasers.
“Sustainability is an important issue to today’s customer. Manufacturing Via with windpower makes it even more relevant to today’s market and adds additional value for our socially responsible customers,” says Shore.
Since the acquisition of the brand from the Fine Papers business earlier this year, Mohawk has paid special attention to Via and its unique personality. When it was launched as a challenger-brand in 1998, Via quickly became the fastest-selling writing, text and cover line in its category. Today, Via continues to be a favorite of paper specifiers. Whether printer, designer, or client, this versatile line offers exceptional performance at a value.
