Tensor Installs New Pressline At The Eureka Reporter

WOODRIDGE, IL (October 27, 2005) Tensor Group, Inc., a premier U.S. manufacturer of web offset press equipment, is installing a new pressline at the Eureka Reporter located in Eureka, California. The new Tensor pressline consists of sixteen T-1400 series units, arranged as four 4-high towers, and one H-50 heavy-duty jaw folder. The units are equipped with slot-style narrow gap plate lock-ups, reel-type narrow gap blanket lock-ups for extended print image area, a pin register system, centralized lubrication, brush dampeners and two-web capability through two of the towers, including entry and exit rollers and swing compensators. The H-50 folder includes ½ fold and ¼ fold capabilities, a crosshead perforator, air former with manifold and blower, double under folder leads, a laser jam detection system and a tabloid slitter. The pressline also includes four Jardis zero speed automatic splicers, a Standard Electric drive system, EPG remote inking system, Baldwin circulators and a semi-automatic plate bender and manual punch. The Eureka Reporter prints a daily newspaper which covers the greater Eureka area and county news. The newspaper was previously printed through an outside firm; but with the installation of the new Tensor pressline they will be bringing their printing in-house. The independently and locally owned newspaper features local staff and a thrice-weekly publication in print and on the web.
