Mohawk Announces Organizational Changes and Promotions

[Cohoes, NY] – Thomas D. O’Connor, Jr., Chairman & CEO of Mohawk Fine Papers Inc. is pleased to announce the following organizational changes and promotions. Walter A. Duignan has been appointed to Mohawk’s board of directors by Thomas O’Connor, Jr. Currently Executive Vice President & Vice Chairman, Duignan first joined Mohawk in 1995 as Executive Vice President, Strategic Planning where he was responsible for strategic planning, sales, marketing and product promotions. In 2000, he was named Executive Vice President and Vice Chairman. Duignan possesses over 40 years of experience in the fine paper industry. Prior to joining Mohawk he held the position of Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Simpson Paper Company. Kevin P. Richard has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Operations and Chief Operating Officer by Thomas O’Connor, Jr. Joining Mohawk in 1995 as Manager, Engineering and Maintenance, Richard was quickly appointed as Vice President, Manufacturing, Engineering and Maintenance. Richard was then promoted in 1999 to Vice President of Operations and again quickly rose to the position of Senior Vice President, Operations & Research. Then in September of 2000, he was named Executive Vice President, Operations. Richard had 13 years of experience with International Paper Company prior to joining Mohawk. Jack F. Haren, Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer has been appointed to Mohawk’s board of directors. Haren joined the company in 1999 as Vice President, Finance. In 2000, he was promoted to Senior Vice President, and then was named Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer in 2002. Haren had 24 years of experience with Union Camp Corporation prior to joining Mohawk and held the position of Corporate Controller with responsibility for corporate accounting, financial planning, operational and capital budgeting. Haren is a certified public accountant. Laura J. Shore has been promoted to Senior Vice President Communications. Shore joined Mohawk's marketing communications department in 1984. Within five years, Shore was named manager of that department. Since then, Shore has spearheaded the development and management of every facet of Mohawk's brand including the evolution of Mohawk's identity system and all external design and communications. As company's creative director, she is responsible for overseeing the creation of dozens of award-winning promotions on behalf of Mohawk, working alongside leading design consultancies. In 1997 Shore was promoted to Vice President, Communications. Laura has significantly raised Mohawk's visibility and profile in the trade and business media, as well as created solid relationships throughout the graphic arts community. She and her team have successfully built one of today's most highly respected brands in fine papers.
