Amvest Financial Group Advises Universal Manufacturing On The Acquisition Of Reflections Printing

KANSAS CITY, MO – October 4, 2005 – Amvest Financial Group an investment bank specializing in the printing industry conducted the acquisition search, initiated the transaction and acted as advisor to Universal Manufacturing Company. Universal is a printer of game tickets such as window tickets, punch card tickets, promotional tickets, fundraising tickets, pull tabs and many other related products and commercial printing Universal was founded by Mr. Joseph Berkowitz in 1936 as Bee Jay Products, Inc., which was later merged with Werts Novelty Co. to form Universal Manufacturing Co., Inc. The company was sold to its current ownership in 1979. Reflections Printing, Inc. is a commercial printing company located in Lenexa, Kansas. Reflections prints brochures, sell sheets, presentation folders, reply cards and other printed products. Many of these products are sold nationally to printing brokers. Universal was looking to grow its commercial printing division and retained Amvest to search for acquisitions. Reflections was a good match as it had outgrown its current facility and Universal had additional space. Reflections will eventually be merged into Universals facility in Kansas City, MO. The senior members of the Boyd family owners of Reflections were interested in retirement and liquidity.
