Mortsel, Belgium – 22 September 2005 – Agfa has won the contract to supply two :Polaris CtP systems along with 7,000 plates per week and :Arkitex workflow to the new, state-of-the-art green field site near Cork, Ireland. The all-new production facility is situated on a two and half acre site and is scheduled to be operational by the start of next year. Webprint Concepts has recently been awarded a fifteen-year contract to print fourteen titles for Thomas Crosbie Holdings, which amounts to two million copies per week. With a 192 page tabloid, four colour throughout press capability, the demands on Agfa's plate production systems will be significant, especially as the intention is to take on more contracts beyond what has already been announced. When asked why Agfa, Barry Pearson, Production Manager, said: "I have always had a good experience working with Agfa. They are reliable and attentive to customer requirements. In fact, in my opinion the :Polaris system is the best available and quickly becoming the de facto standard for the industry. Agfa is the only supplier that can provide a true turnkey solution which includes hardware, software and plates."
