September 12, 2005 - Chicago (Print 05 & Converting 05) - Untold hundreds of thousands of conventional, flat, 2D images can now be reconsidered for numerous new uses in advertising, POP, packaging, direct mail and more with the debut of HumanEyes 3D's powerful 2D to 3D conversion technology. HumanEyes 3D is demonstrating 2D to 3D conversions at its 3D photography, proof, and print workflow studio, located in HumanEyes 3D distributor xpedx's Print 05 & Converting 05 booth #7218. The technology will be incorporated into HumanEyes' full line of special effects/lenticular software solutions.
HumanEyes' 2D to 3D Conversion Technology:
•Is Easy to Use. Intelligent Software Component Makes Logical Depth Decisions with Basic User Assistance
•Results in Strikingly Natural 3D Images
•Does Not Require Layering and Tracing, in Contrast with other 2D to 3D Conversion Tools
The Important Differences Between HumanEyes' New Technology & The Rest:
HumanEyes 2D to 3D combines simplicity with unprecedented quality and impact. In contrast to other methods, the HumanEyes user does not have to separate a 2D picture into layers by tracing edges of objects. In addition, because HumanEyes does not utilize layers, the new HumanEyes 2D to 3D technology also permits a more natural looking, continuous 3D effect not tainted by layering.
Sophisticated, Intelligent Algorithms Make Depth Decisions with Simple User Input
With HumanEyes 2D to 3D, the user simply marks a few areas of an image according to general placement (e.g., foreground, middleground, background). A highly advanced, powerful algorithm intelligently calculates the depth parameters of the entire image.
This ease in identifying image areas is extremely important when working with natural scenes that include content such as hair or plants, whose edges are very difficult to trace.
Price & Availability
HumanEyes 3D anticipates that its 2D to 3D Conversion component will be offered to HumanEyes 3D application users by the end of 2005. The 2D to 3D conversion tool will be offered as an upgradeable option to both current users of HumanEyes products and new customers. Price of this option will be set towards its commercial release.
