X-Rite Wins Agreement with Epson for Premium ICC Profiles

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO--Sept. 10, 2005-- BOOTH #7518, PRINT 2005 -- X-Rite today announced that it has signed an agreement with Epson to provide X-Rite premium ICC profiles for its entire Stylus Pro line of printers. ICC profiles are a standard for specifying the color attributes of imaging devices such as digital cameras, scanners, displays, and printers so that the color of an image remains true from source to destination. Epson tested X-Rite's ICC profiles against many competing profiles for its Stylus Pro 4800, 7800, and 9800 professional series of printers. X-Rite's ICC profiles proved to provide superior color fidelity, better graybalance, and superior shadow to highlight detail and smoothness. X-Rite's premium ICC profiles are generated using its award-winning MonacoPROFILER 4.8 software. "This is a significant win for X-Rite as we continue our focus on delivering superior color innovation for industry leaders like Epson," said Tom Dlugos, X-Rite's Director of Sales, Imaging Products. "Epson's Pro line printers are the preferred choice by many photographers and creative professionals. X-Rite premium ICC profiles will provide consistent, accurate color from display to print, saving valuable time and money due to reducing color correction and reprints." "Having the best RGB ICC profiling technology with our latest Epson Stylus Pro printer line is expected from our customers," said Mark Radogna, Group Product Manager, Epson Professional Imaging. "After reviewing many leading ICC profiling technologies, we concluded that X-Rite's latest technology was superior, allowing us to continue our efforts to produce the finest photographic prints possible."
