Pitney Bowes Introduces DM Infinity Digital Postage Meter Series Permit and Graphics Printing Module

Press release from the issuing company

STAMFORD, Conn., Sept. 9 -- Pitney Bowes Inc. today introduced the DM Infinity Meter Permit and Graphics Printing Module, which gives customers the flexibility to print permit indicia and graphics -- including a town circle and customizable advertising slogans - to personalize mail pieces. The Permit and Graphics Printing Module, the newest offering in the DM Infinity series family of high-speed digital mailing solutions, also enables customers to further reduce unnecessary costs and improve the performance of their production mailing operations. "The DM Infinity meter series gives mailers unlimited flexibility in a single solution," said David Robinson, vice president, business development of Pitney Bowes Document Messaging Technologies division. "Since the introduction of the Series in January, Pitney Bowes has launched a government meter, the DM Infinity Meter Roll-Up System: DDA Solution, and now the Permit and Graphics Printing Module. With the DM Infinity series, one meter base can do it all." The ability to print permit indicia on plain envelopes enables customers to save inventory costs associated with storing large numbers of pre-printed, permitted envelopes. In addition, the module gives customers the flexibility to add individualized and customized graphics to a pre-printed envelope. "With the DM Infinity Meter Permit and Graphics Printing Module, mailers can print indicia and graphics on a plain envelope, or add graphics with marketing messages that may improve 'openability' to pre-printed permit envelopes, and switch between those two applications in minutes," Robinson said. "This is an ideal solution for service bureaus, telecommunications companies, utilities and all high volume mailers that place a premium on flexibility." The DM Infinity Meter Permit and Graphics Printing Module also includes workforce productivity features. Printing permit indicia enables mailers to standardize on envelope types, streamline processes and reduce the potential for human error. Use of a town circle with a configurable date allows them to advance the mail run date to help maximize workforce productivity. The Permit and Graphics Printing Module was introduced at the Print '05 Conference being held thru Sept. 14 in Chicago and can be seen at booth # 3667. The company today also announced the general availability of the DM Infinity meter Roll-Up System: DDA Solution, introduced in June 2005, and the Series' extended support of all Pitney Bowes accounting solutions, including AccuTrac HT, Business Manager, OMS-NT and DFWorks Postage Accounting. The Pitney Bowes DM Infinity meter series is the only digital meter family in the world that can meter up to 22,000 mail pieces per hour and meet the demanding reliability and durability requirements of production mailers. It enables mailers to: lower postage costs through its Weigh-on-the-Fly technology, which eliminates the costly guesswork associated with over- estimating postage; increase throughput, with faster print speeds and fewer jams; reduce return mail costs through improved print quality; simplify postage reconciliation; and reduce maintenance costs.
