CC1, Inc. Announces Significant Improvements in Quality and Consistency at The Modesto Bee

Press release from the issuing company

CC1, Inc., the premier provider of digital Automatic Register Control, Web Video, Register Motorization, and Pre-Registration solutions for the web offset market, is announcing that its eXaminer Automatic Register Control systems installed at The Modesto Bee, a large daily newspaper serving the Modesto, California area is providing the paper with significant improvement in its quality and consistency. CC1's eXaminer is the most advanced and effective automatic register control for four-color newsprint available today. The newspaper installed its eXaminer system three years ago on the first unit of its Goss Flexoliner eight unit newspaper press. “Our goal was to improve quality and reduce start-up waste,” says Richard Maxwell, pressroom manager of The Modesto Bee. “Since the installation of the eXaminer system, our quality is definitely superior and our advertisers are much happier with the quality of their ads. We've also significantly improved our waste reduction by .75% out of an overall 2.2% of overall waste. By installing the eXaminer system on the first unit, we no longer have to slow the paper down to get it back into register. Holding Unit One was always a problem. It no longer is due to the eXaminer system.” Maxwell chose to install the CC1 eXaminer system on the most difficult unit of the press to see how it would solve their problems. “The Goss Flexoliner press is a very consistent-printing press,” says Maxwell. “However, from my point of view, the eXaminer system allows the press to print even more consistently.” The eXaminer Automatic Register Control System from CC1, Inc. provides accurate and consistent automatic control of four-color register (running and sidelay) throughout the press run including start/stops, splices and plate changes. The eXaminer features: * Automatic Pre-Positioning of color and cut- off compensators for web path changes; * Automatic Color Register Control to maintain fast and consistent print register quality throughout speed changes, after splices, web breaks, go-downs, and immediate re-establishing of register after edition or plate changes; * Full and/or Lateral register motorization is available. “We look forward to our continued partnership with The Modesto Bee, as with all our customers, to help reduce waste and maintain fast and consistent print register quality throughout their print runs,” says Richard Lewis, President of CC1, Inc.
