Avery Dennison Announces A Breakthrough In Direct Mail Response Media

Press release from the issuing company

Buffalo, NY – August 16, 2005 – Avery Dennison Corporation’s Business Media Division recently launched its new ADvantageTM all-in-one business response document to expand its custom product offerings. A US patent is pending on the product. The product combines the key elements of a successful mail campaign in a single piece of media. Among the components of the product are pressure sensitive incentive labels – like those used for return addresses, a response reply card, an integrated business reply envelope, and space for the sender’s campaign message. All portions of the document, including the built-in response envelope, are imaged to enhance the personalization of the mailing. ADvantageTM provides a unique design for direct mail campaigns. According to Deb Ashton, Marketing Manager, one of the key benefits of the product is the advantage of having all components together in one piece. “The service bureau eliminates the risk of mismatching the multiple pieces needed in traditional mailings,” Ashton said. “In addition, recipients have all of the information the mailing is trying to communicate built into a single document, so the recipient’s eye is driven to the campaign message and they are more likely to take action instead of rifling through the package looking for their address labels. The message stays with the labels, keeping it fresh in the mind of the recipient long after the rest of the package is gone,” she added. This is a major benefit for many direct mailers. Available in 8.5” x 11” and 11” x 17” formats, the mailers are designed to perform in a service-bureau type of environment. They have been tested and qualified to run on high-speed xerographic imaging equipment. The product is recommended for campaigns seeking a solicited response from a list of targeted recipients; the availability of print-on-demand to personalize each piece is a unique feature of this product. “Mailers who want to customize their mail piece will be delighted to know that Avery Dennison’s Business Media Division is prepared to create custom applications of the mailer to suit their particular needs,” said Ashton. “We specialize in custom products and ADvantageTM simply takes that to a whole new level.” Avery Dennison is a global leader in pressure-sensitive labeling materials, office products and retail tag, ticketing and branding systems. Based in Pasadena, Calif., Avery Dennison is a FORTUNE 500 company with 2004 sales of $5.3 billion.
